Today we’re wearing… Sisley

It’s well into March and with the first day of spring behind us we should already be looking ahead to the Fall/Winter collections for 2011. That is how the fashion industry works. But after enjoying our first full week of beautiful warm weather in Berlin let’s just enjoy the now! And what is the best way to celebrate cheerful sunshine and later sunsets? SHORTS.

These three looks from Sisley’s Spring/Summer 2011 Collection provide daring examples of what to be looking for to show off a little more leg this season.

The pairs featured here are just as precisely tailored as their full-length counterparts in sleek modern-fits. The men’s flat and clean-cut bermuda shorts are current and adult. Here the bermudas are presented with a rock n’ roll, skull-printed, short-sleeve sweater and graphic scarf, which have creatively redefined the classic springtime nautical inspirations. The second men’s ensemble is a more casual short, cuffed above the knee, starring alongside a subtly striped cardigan. The artist inspired graphic-t and faintly hued, lightweight scarf finish the richly layered look.

The women’s collection for the season provides short options in a number of lengths and materials. I was partial to this outfit because it is sexy and feminine without being trite. The dark, cuffed shorts have an understated menswear stripe pattern and look smart with the strappy sandals and bold, not fussy, layered necklaces. The loosely curled hair and off-the-shoulder sweatshirt are also season appropriate.

And I promise we’ll be back to see what they are offering for Fall/Winter in time to keep you warm. In the meantime, this brand campaign video for Sisley will introduce you to the other directions the Italian brand was exploring this season, both in terms of evening- appropriate apparel and other rockin’, not too sweet, moments.
